October 14, 2013: CT-W MA SIOR Chapter Update
The CT - W MA Chapter of SIOR recently held its fall meeting at Merritt 7 in Norwalk - the guest speaker was Craig Tagan, managing director of Clarion Partners, who reviewed Clarion's perspectives in commercial real estate investing and market conditions.
Seperately, Chapter members continued their support of Habitat for Humanity by participating in a work day at habitat's Coastal Fairfield County facility. Previous efforts include supporting the organization's Veteran's Initiative through construction and organizing a benefit concert which raised $17,000.
Finally, Chapter members Mark Duclos, SIOR and Steve Inglese, SIOR served as panelists at the 23rd Connecticut Commercial Real Estate Conference held in Rocky Hill.

August 29, 2013: SIORs co-list 85,000 sf Industrial Facility
Cresa Partners in Stamford and The Geenty Group in Branford recently announced that they are co-listing the Brady Corporation facility on North Branford Rd., Branford for sale at $4,484,000. The 85,000 sf industrial facility sits on 11+ acres, allowing for further expansion. Keven Geenty, SIOR and Kristin Geenty, SIOR, of the Geenty Group in Branford will service the listing and Jeff Gage, SIOR, CCIM, of Cresa Partners will directly interface with the Client. This joint marketing effort illustrates the value of the SIOR organization to Clients as SIORs from different brokerage houses work together seamlessly to achieve their goals.

June 17, 2013: CT & W MA SIOR has an Active Spring
The Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Chapter of SIOR recently participated in a Habitat For Humanity build project in Bridgeport. The Chapter also held a benefit concert for Habitat featuring the blues band - Roomful of Blues and raised almost $17,000 from ticket sales and generous contributions. Finally, the Chapter held a golf tournament and its summer meeting at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull.

January 14, 2013: SIOR CT W-MA Chapter Awards University of Connecticut Scholarships
Storrs, CT: The Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Chapter of the Society of Industrial and
Office Realtors (SIOR) is pleased to announce recent University of Connecticut Scholarship
recipients for the 2012/2013 academic year.
A total of $18,000 was awarded to three deserving students from UCONN’s School of Business. The scholarships are funded from the Chapter sponsored Samuel F. Pierson and Carl F. Traub scholarships, with matching funds provided by The SIOR Foundation.
The Connecticut/Western Massachusetts SIOR Chapter is delighted to acknowledge the scholarship
recipients: Brittani Clayton, Michael Hovey, and Frances (Frankie) Gibbons. All the recipients are
Deans List students.
The Connecticut/Western Massachusetts SIOR Chapter has two scholarship funds: The first is in honor of Samuel F. Pierson, a long-time member and past national president of the society, and the other in memory of Carl F. Traub, another long-time chapter member who had a significant positive impact on the commercial real estate industry. The Chapter’s scholarships are supported with matching funds from the SIOR Foundation (SIORF). The Chapter has awarded over $300,000 to deserving students at the University of Connecticut’s School of Business concentrating in Real Estate.
